I remember getting the Dead Kennedy's LP Frankenchrist around 1995 or 1996 or so.  I'd read the story of how they'd been sued into bankruptcy over the H.R. Giger called "Penis Landscape" in the Spin Alternative Music Guide from '94, but my CD copy didn't have this artwork in it.  I had to imagine it in my mind. I don't think there were any plans to ever reprint it in the near future so it had to remain some kind of outlandish mental notion of a series of interlocked genitalia.  Tipper Gore and her PMRC allies went to great lengths to shield my impressionable mind from ever seeing it.

There's something appropros then about the fact that any kid with an internet connection can now just log on to Wikipedia and do a quick search to find an actual image of the thing.  The guardians of morality have long since moved on, their fight never really about the obscenity itself to begin with,.
