The Lines- Hull Down
Interestingly, if The Lines had continued recording they would have gone in a more minimal synth direction. Their "lost" album being re-released on Acute though may even be better than what that recording would have been like. There's some serious Conny Plank-style mixing and matching of cassette demos that comes off fabulously well in this new record. One of the best reissues of the year so far.
I reviewed the two other Lines releases on Acute back when they came out, Flood Bank and Memory Span. A greatly underrated act.
